Here is a running list of some Christmas trouble (the good, charitable kind) you can get into in the coming days to help local charities, brought to you by your favorite radio stations:
95.7 JAMZ: Look for your favorite Jamz DJ’s at area Wal-Marts and grab a Star out of the Jamz Stocking…and a buy a toy for a kid who wouldn’t have one for Christmas.
Local NPR affiliate 90.3 is home of “The Red Drop Box”. WBHM serves as a collection site for Greater Birmingham Ministries. Non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and toiletries can be dropped off, during regular business hours, at the WBHM studios, located at 650 11th Street South.
Hot 107.7: HOT 107.7 wants to make it a truly happy holiday season for the less fortunate. That’s why they are teaming up with Better Basics of Birmingham in the Hot for Tots Toy and Book Drive. And you can help by just donating a new unwrapped toy or book. Donations can be dropped off at the HOT 1077 studios at 244 Goodwin Crest Drive, at the Better Basics Office at 200 Beacon Parkway West. Also, if you’re downtown, you can bring your donation to Malcolm’s Reading Room located at 404 17th Street North in the Historic Civil Rights District.
Rock 99.5’s Steve West posted an interview with Tony Cooper of the Jimmie Hale Mission.
97.3 New Country: They’ve teamed up with BC powders to help you eliminate those pesky Holiday Headaches! We want to give you prize packs with fast cash, t-shirts, cups and more! And all you have to do to enter is let us know your worst Holiday Headache. You can also register here for BC’s grand prize, a chance to have your Holiday Shopping Credit card bills (up to $5,000) paid!
98.7 KISS FM: Here’s your chance to recognize local heroes for the love and support they give to strengthen their families and community. Nominate your hero to receive a $500 gift check card, a $1000 donation to the charity of their choice, and a special VIP breakfast celebrating all the honorees. The Feeding Dreams program was created by General Mills to honor those who work tirelessly for family and community. Nominate your hero for the Feeding Dreams Program at feedingdreams.com.
WZZK & 106.9 The Eagle are teaming up to host their 2008 Toy Drive. Click here to find out all the dropoff locations.
103.7 the Q has a listing of Christmas parades all over Alabama! (My personal fav Graysville’s is Dec 6 on Main St! w00t w00t!)
And there you go.
Do something good. Now!
