I decided it was time to come clean about a years long obsession I have.
You see, it’s not with a real person (okay, maybe his personality and overall fineness), it’s with his voice. NPR’s Marketplace host Kai Ryssdal is my radio crush. I know I’m not alone. This kid (‘s voice) is gorgeous.
Yes, he’s a smart, attractive grown man with a degree in whatever, but his voice is what fan clubs are made of!
I listen to Marketplace (“business for the rest of us”) every day at 6 pm on WBHM Birmingham 90.3 because I’m a little slow and need a hot guy to explain money to me, but don’t we all?
There was something strange about this morning. I felt another fire in my heart/ear. SAY IT AIN’T SO KAI! I heard, for the first time, Kai’s counterpart on Marketplace Mornings: Scott Jagow.
YES PLEASE! What is it about these USC fellas and the way their voice dances across radio signals right into my Appalachian ear. I have a very defined Southern accent, so I usually harbor disdain for people from other regions of our great country who speak like they are about to gag. But.. Scott Jagow. Wow. I’m not saying that he’s not beautiful, but here’s a preview:
It’s impossible to hate on the dude while he’s holding a pitcher of beer and wearing a USA hat. Thank you Marketplace & American Public Media. Radio (if only in voice) hotties for the win! I’m going to get alot of chastising from my parents and boyfriend for falling in love with California guys (even worse ones that work on USC’s campus!). COLLEGE GIRL GROUPIES OF RANDOM BUSINESS RADIO SHOWS… unite?
Since Birmingham radio veteran Steve Chiotakis just recently moved out West to join the Marketplace team (broadcast nationwide), then maybe they’ll hate me a little less.

Ditto! That voice!
