Daily Dose: The High Strung

If this show doesn’t pack the house out than I declare war. This is easily one of the best line-ups Greencup has ever had:

Teen Getaway / The Dirty Lungs / The High Strung / The Peekers @ Greencup Books

Admission: $5 (seems low, but Mike from Greencup once told me all Greencup shows were “around $5″)
Time: 8 PM

Reason the first: Excellent local bands: Teen Getaway are kick-ass, have been featured on We Have Signal, are generally all around nice folks and kick ass. I say kick ass twice because they kick so much ass. The Dirty Lungs are just that. Dirty rock n’ roll played so loud as to cause you to gasp for air, and you would only you can’t stop dancing.

Reason the second: Excellent bands from other corners of the earth. Apparently these other acts are on some kind of a library tour and Greencup Books (they give away free books sometimes so…that counts right?) get the nod. It’s poppy, soulful, and difficult to put a thumb on. Enjoyable indeed.
